Hyundai India is working hard to create a buzz about the upcoming futuristic looking sedan the Hyundai Verna RB, the 2011 new model of Hyundai Verna. The Verna RB will be unveiled and officially launched in second week of May 2011.  There are numerous online campaign running teasers showing partial views of the car, also video showing certain design elements. There are also large billboards by the road which can be easily spotted in Delhi. Adding to this, Hyundai has also released a Teaser Video and its live on YouTube. Mercedes Benz India has officially announced a price hike in its luxury cars effective from May 2011. There is no detail on how much the hike will be, but as per the industry estimates, it should be up to 2% hike in the price across various models. Mercedes Benz is one of the first car makers in luxury segment to announce this hike which heavily relies on CKD units for its luxury cars. The major reason expected behind this hike is the abrupt revision in the duty structure for the CKD components which came into effect from April 2011. Mr. Peter Honegg, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India quoted: The rising input costs and challenging exchange rates as well as inflationary impacts are areas that have a bearing on the cost of the final product. We have absorbed these to a significant level but moving forward we will have to pass on some portion of this impact to the customer. Maruti Swift Dzire is one of the largest selling sedans in India. Since Maruti Suzuki is bringing new Maruti Swift 2011 in India, which is taller, more spacious and has better interiors, it makes all the sense to revamp the Maruti Swift Dzire as well. The new model of Maruti Swift Dzire will be based on the Maruti Swift New Model and will be similar to it except for the rear boot which will be added to the new Dzire Sedan. Piaggio is one of the major players in the commercial vehicle segment and has been quite keen on entering the small car segment with a new concept called as Piaggio NT3. During November 2010 we had reported of the company's plan of launching the NT3 and now after almost six months, the brand is in news again for the same vehicle. The Italian two wheeler maker is all set to introduce the NT3 in two models with different engine capacities by the end of 2012. The car has been designed specifically for price sensitive markets like ours and rival Bajaj ultra low cost (ULC) vehicle and Tata Nano.
