New Fuel Efficiency Norms and Standard For India Posted: 05 May 2011 03:14 AM PDT About 1.5 years back, we heard some news about the government of India working on the Fuel Efficiency standards for cars just like the Start ratings for electrical appliances by BEE (bureau of energy efficiency) in India. It took a lot of time to have materialized, and is yet to announced. The BEE has finally announced that system is under discussions and maybe announced very soon. Ajay Mathur, director general, bureau of energy efficiency told that the govt. is working on deciding the standards which will represent the fuel efficiency of vehicles in Kilometers per litre of fuel. Different weight vehicles will be classified under different levels of fuel efficiency. The star system used for electrical appliances is also a possibility as its easy to understand by the buyers. The implementation of these new norms is likely to be made mandatory by 2015. New Fuel Efficiency Norms and Standard For India is a post from: Copyrights 2010 CarBlogIndia - All About Automobiles. There has been already lot on increase in the prices in last one year and it doesn't seem to stop. The international prices keep going up and the domestic prices are somewhat controlled. As a matter of fact, there is a subsidy on Diesel which causes a financial deficit on the government of India. But on the contrary, something which is never talked about is the sky high taxes on petrol and diesel. The petrol and diesel in India are taxed heavily and these taxes make the cost of fuel almost two folds the price at which it leaves the refineries. With petrol prices already close to Rs. 60 per litre and Diesel close to Rs. 35 per litre, god knows what is yet to come. Experts say that the prices of petrol may go as high as Rs. 10 per litre but in a phased manner, which means two or three small [...] Get Ready For Another Petrol & Diesel Price Rise In India is a post from: Copyrights 2010 CarBlogIndia - All About Automobiles. While the Honda is the oldest competitor and has record sales in hand, the Access falls no behind its competitor with ongoing success has surpassed that of the Activa. Yamaha, another auto major has already announced the launch of Yamaha gearless scooter in India planned for 2012 launch. Rumors flew in 2010 than Suzuki was planning to introduce a new gearless scooter alike Access but since then the rumors never turned into reality. Lately as being reported, Suzuki has become keen on launching a new scooter called as Suzuki Skydrive but no time has set as of now. The Skydrive is good looking, aerodynamic and quite sleek in appearance and very much distinguishable from any other such scooter on the road. Bigger wheels, sporty looks, dynamic body graphics, beautiful headlamps are some of the noticeable things about this scooter. The model available in other markets also features front disc brakes which I doubt would be present on the Indian model.
