Toyota has earlier announced a stop car production at its India Plants on Mondays and Fridays between April 25 and June 4. The cut had been declared because of the reduced supply of the auto-parts from Toyota Japan which has been recovering from the earthquake and tsunami which took place sometime back. Toyota India has today announced that it will resume normal operations at the TKM plants in India before the expected dates. The supply of the auto components are expected to be normal by 20th May 2011. The Toyota India Plants will now function on all weekdays and some of the non – working Saturdays to catch up for the loss in production in the past weeks and reduce the waiting time for the customers.   Mr. Hiroshi Nakagawa, Managing Director, Toyota India quoted: We are happy to announce that we will be able to resume normal production much earlier than expected. Our focus is to reduce the backlog and jointly work with our vendors to minimize delivery delays. Cherry Automobiles from China is in talk with Indian Automobile manufacturers to bring its small car Cherry QQ3 to India. The Cherry QQ3 is powered by a small 800 CC engine which powers the small car through a 5 speed manual transmission. The QQ3 is a very suitable car for India in terms of size, fuel economy and low cost. The car comes with a max power of 48.3 BHP@6000 RPM and max torque of 70Nm@3500-4000 RPM. The cars is light in weight (about 880 Kg) and is 3.55m in length which fits well in the India small car definition. There has been a test unit spotted in Delhi which might be linked to the testing of this car in Indian road condition. The QQ3 if manufactures or assembled in India with some local automobile manufacturer can become a very successful product in the segment with highest sales in India. The pricing can be between Rs. 2 Lakh and Rs. 3 Lakh, which is a direct competition with Maruti Alto, upcoming Hyundai 800 aka Hyundai HA, Chevrolet Spark and Hyundai Santro small car. A week ago we reported of a sedan version of Hyundai i40 which was on the cards and lately it has been unveiled at the 2011 Barcelona Motor Show. Now that the sedan has been unwrapped, the possibilities of it coming to Indian shores are very much. A few days back Hyundai had launched the all new Hyundai Verna which derives its looks from the Hyundai RB Concept and is expected to give cut throat competition to existing sedans.  As expected the car isn't too pricy and has been competitively priced. We are talking about the new Verna because from the design point of view the Verna and i40 both follow the new 'fluidic sculpture' but when talking in terms of price, the i40 is very much confusing.
