Mercedes Benz C Class 2012 New Models Launch In India In July 2011 Posted: 25 May 2011 02:47 AM PDT Mercedes Benz is about to launch their new C-Class Sedans in India in July 2011. The next generation Mercedes C Class has over 2000 new parts compared to the old Merc C Class and is more aerodynamic and lighter in weight compared to the old generations. The new C class is undergoing final certifications with the ARAI in India after which it will be officially launched in India. The details of models to be launched in India is not disclosed as yet. The new C-Class has many intelligent features to enhance the performance, efficiency as well as safety of the car. The new C Class will also have modern entertainment and navigation systems built in with the new car. More details will emerge soon when the official information is released. Rising Oil Prices To Accelerate Development Of Electric and Hybrid Cars- PwC Survey Posted: 25 May 2011 02:00 AM PDT As per a recent survey by PwC, the rising oil prices is forcing the automobile makers to re-think their strategy about the Electric Cars and Hybrid Cars. With rapidly shooting prices of oil creating a hole in the pocket of commuters, new car buyers are more than ever interested in cheaper fuel options which help them commute and save at the same time. Collaboration between industry participants will be essential to bring alternative fuel applications to market, according to PwC’s latest publication Charging Forward: Electric Vehicle Survey. While automakers continue to bring electric vehicles (EVs) to the marketplace, governments, local bodies and utility companies are challenged with building the infrastructure required to support these vehicles long before mainstream consumption will take hold. PwC surveyed over 200 executives across multiple industries, including automotive, technology, utilities, energy and government. Approximately one-third (33.8%) of respondents felt the lack of investment to modernize the grid is a primary roadblock preventing the widespread support of EVs. In addition, the lack of capacity during peak energy consumption hours also is a concern, as indicated by 31.1 percent of those surveyed. Honda India To Ramp Up Dealer Network To Smaller Cities For Marketing Brio Posted: 24 May 2011 04:56 AM PDT Honda SIEL Cars India (HSCI), is all active to expand there sales network before there next planned launch of their small car model Honda Brio In India. Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI), a joint venture between a Japan's leading premier car manufacturer Honda Motors and Siel Siddharth Shriram Group company, reportedly expanding there sales network in smaller cities to boost there customer base in India. HSCI are now focusing on relatively smaller cities i.e. Tier-II and Tier-III cities to approach wider target audience for there small car Honda Brio. As of now HSCI has 125 sales centers in around 77 cities across India and with this expansion plan they are looking to add 25 more outlets in next 12 months. Out of 25, HSCI has already marked there presence in Ambala, Mandi, Rohtak and Coonoor. The sales and marketing team of HCSI said currently 50% of their sales are derived from Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi. The rest of their sales are achieved from the rest of the 69 cities. Mahindra Scorpio Low Cost EX Model Launched In India At Price Of Rs. 7.21 Lakhs Posted: 24 May 2011 04:51 AM PDT Mahindra and Mahindra has launched a low priced version of its popular SUV Mahindra Scorpio. Mahindra Scorpio and Mahindra Xylo are the two popular cars from Mahindra’s stable in India. Earlier, the lowest priced variant of Scorpio with a BS4 complaint engine was priced at Rs. 8.8 Lakhs, now the lowest priced Scorpio EX costs just Rs. 7.21 Lakhs. This pricing will ensure a lot of additional buyers attraction towards the Mahindra Scorpio who otherwise might not be able to buy it because of the price factor. Mahindra Scorpio EX Low Cost Model Engine and Specifications The new EX model of Mahindra Scorpio in India is powered by a 2.5 Litre m2DiCR engine with a max power of 75 BHP and a max torque of 220 Nm.
