Algae May Power Electric Cars Of Future !

If you are worried that future cars may be filled with Algae in the tank, don't worry, its not going to be the case. As per the latest research at the MIT, USA, researcher Iftach Yacoby has found out a way to produce four times the quantity of Hydrogen which is usually produced in the formation of Sugar by algae. Algae and some types of bacteria use sunlight to convert water into sugar and hydrogen by chemically decomposing them in an environment friendly way. By using an enzyme (a chemical to speed up reactions), the hydrogen production can be increased by 400% without hurting the algae! image- concept electric car Hydrogen produced by these algae can be stored in cylinders which can be used in Fuel Cells which produce electricity for electric cars. Will Audi Launch A3 In India? Maybe Yes !

Indian automobile market has become a potential market for all big automobile manufacturers, which is attracting auto companies to plan big for the Indian market. Luxury car manufacturer, Audi has started conducting a feasibility study in the country to assess the potential for their upcoming sports sedan Audi A3 for the Indian market. However there is no time line for the launch of the A3 but it is been speculated that the sedan will be unveiled in 2013-14 at Rs. 20 lakh which will make it the cheapest Audi model in the country. With its sporty looks and price range it will directly compete with current market leaders Honda accord, Skoda Laura, Skoda Superb, Honda Civic, Volkswagen Jetta, Maruti Kizashi and other premium luxury cars. European Suzuki Swift Diesel With 28.5 KMPL Mileage Launching in June 2011

Suzuki has launched the new Swift 2011 in Europe in 2010 with the petrol variant however the diesel variant was not introduced at that time. The official launch of Swift Diesel with 1.3 Litre DDiS Engine in Europe on June 1, 2011. The most striking fact about the European Swift Diesel is the fuel efficiency which is astonishing 28.5 KMPL on Diesel. The new Swift DDiS will be powered by an improved 1.3 Litre CRDI Multi-jet Diesel engine with turbocharger. With the improved engine, the top speed of the Swift Diesel DDiS 2011 will be 166 KMPH and it will reach from 0 to 100 KMPH in just 12.7 seconds which is not bad for a diesel car powered by a 74 BHP engine. The European Swift Diesel will feature 16 inch alloy wheels, seven airbags for safety, heated electric mirrors and other modern gadgetry. The Swift DDiS 2011 complies with the stringent Euro 5 emission norms with just 109gm of CO2 produced every Km. The 11th edition of Michelin Challenge Bibendum was recently concluded in Berlin, held from May 18 to 22. Promoting the overall theme of cleaner, safer, more connected mobility, the event was yet another example of Michelin Group's commitment to sustainable and safer road mobility. The purpose of the Michelin Challenge Bibendum 2011 is to bring together a broad array of stakeholders – from car lovers to decision makers – while also involving the general public, with the goal of making the sustainable mobility of the future more widely accessible. Honda Motorcycles And Scooters India On Expansion Spree !

HMSI or Honda Scooters and Motorcycles India Ltd. was more focussed on its popular gearless scooters Honda Activa and Honda Aviator in India produces in its Manesar plant near Gurgaon in north India. The production capacity of Manesar Plant is 16 Lakh two wheelers per year and the second plant of Honda which is under development at Alwar Rajasthan is about to start in July 2011 with an initial capacity of 6 Lakh units per year which will be further increased to 12 Lakhs units once the plant reaches full capacity by March 2012. Honda has also decided to develop a third plant which will become operational in 2013 adding another 12 Lakh units capacity per year. The third plant will be located in south India in Karnataka state which will also help reduce the shipping cost of Honda two wheelers to southern parts of the country. The initial batch will be of 500 cars with 200 cars to be exported every month after that. Tata Nano is now a popular car world over because of its price tag. Tata Nano will gradually be exported to more Asian markets where small cars are popular. The process of exports takes time because most of the cars need modifications as per the destination countries automobile safety rules and guidelines. Exports will also help Tata to increase the overall sales of Tata and help Nano to make its place in the hearts of more and more people around the world.
