Tata Motors India Plans Assembly Plant In Mozambique- May assemble Nano There

Report From Mozambique (country in southeastern country) – Tata Motors, an automobile major from India has plans to build an assembly line for Tata Vehicles in the Mozambique's Zambezia province. According to the Mozambique's minister for Industry and Trade, discussions have reached "a very advanced stage" with the business people. Government has taken a former textile factory  into consideration for the assembly unit of Tata Vehicles as sufficient levels of water and electricity are available there. When asked about the timelines for the manufacturing plant, the honorable minister stated that there are stages that project needs to go through before making the assembly plant operational. He also stated that Tata Group has already sent a sample of its Tata Nano model to test its compatible with Mozambique's roads. Maruti Suzuki Gujarat Plant With 20 Lakhs Cars Production Annual Capacity

Maruti Suzuki is seriously considering to set up its third production plant state of Gujarat outside of Haryana. In Haryana, Maruti has its plant in Gurgaon and Manesar. The third plant at Gujarat is under serious consideration and planning phase. As per the official statement of the MSIL Chairman Mr. R C Bhargav, there will be a phased implementation of setting up a plant at Gujarat. Gujarat is a favorable location for Maruti because of the state policies, closeness to ports which reduce the logistics costs for export of cars and a well developed industrial eco-system in Gujarat. Maruti will spend a total of Rs. 12000 Crores to develop this plant to its full capacity in the coming years. In first phase, which will be executed in next 5 years (by 2016), the company will spend Rs. 6000 Crores to develop a capacity of 10 Lakh (1 million) cars per year. The development will also include vendor development for supplying parts needed for production. Mercedes Benz India Grew Sales by 36% In May 2011

Mercedes Benz sold a total of 561 cars in India in May 2011 compared to 411 cars sold in May 2011 registering a growth of about 36%. Driving this strong growth in May 2011 are the company's best sellers, the C-Class that registered a 45% growth by clocking 314 units (May 2010: 216 units) and the flagship E-Class which grew by 14% at 130 units (May 2010:114 units). In the period from January-May 2011, Mercedes-Benz India grew by an impressive 60% clocking 3233 units as compared to January-May 2010. Mercedes-Benz India's sedan segment comprising C-Class, E-Class & the S-Class grew by 51% in the January-May 2011 period by registering sales of 2830 units (Jan-May 2010: 1873 units). The SUV segment comprising the M-Class and GL-Class also registered a growth of almost 200%. (Jan-May 2011: 344 units; Jan-May 2010: 117 units). Maruti, Chevrolet, Toyota, Skoda, Tata and Hyundai Sales Increase In May 2011

Most of the automobile majors from India have reported their official sales figures for the month of May 2011 today. There seems to be a good rise in most of the automobile sales with highest percentage sales being recorded by Skoda India with 100% YoY sales growth and General Motors (Chevrolet) recording the least percentage increase in sales. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. sold most number of cars which is a 104073 in May 2011 compared to 102175 in May 2011 registering a small percentage growth of 1.9% but maintaining its top position in the car sales in India. Tata Motors also saw a rise of sales by about 7.5 percent with 56762 cars sold in May 2011 compared to the 52799 cars in the same month last year. Hyundai Motors India sold 31,123 cars in India in May 2011 registering a domestic sales growth of about 14.6% over May 2010. GM or Chevrolet India reported a sales increase or 104 units by selling a total of 8329 cars in May 2011 compared to 8225 cars in the same month last year. Made In India Honda Brio and Toyota Etios Cars and Components To Be Exported Globally

Toyota and Honda, the two Japanese multinational automakers are planning to make India as an outsourcing hub for components of their cars. Once executed with this plan, the key components of these cars will be sourced from India to other countries manufacturing units. Presently Toyota have plans to expand to countries like South America and Russia for their Toyota Etios Sedan. The company have also started analyzing the overall market potential in  these countries. When launched, Etios will be manufactured from the parts exported from India. Similarly, Honda is also planning to export components for the Honda Brio in Thailand from its Rajasthan based manufacturing unit. Honda will be launching Honda Brio, a hatchback later this year in India. The two auto majors, Toyota and Honda have already established a vendor base in India and are now planning to export parts to other markets. Hero MotoCorp To Launch Dirt Bike In India in 2011

Hero MotoCorp (formerly Hero Honda) will launch a Dirt Bike in India by the end of the year 2011. The development of the dirt bike is under progress and has not been officially confirmed as yet. The new dirt bike to be launched in India will be the first dirt bike from India as well as the first launch of Hero MotoCorp under the new brand name after its split from Honda Motors Japan. Maruti Suzuki showcased their Made in India concept small MPV car called the Maruti R3 or R-III in the Auto Expo 2010 in Delhi in January 2010. Since then, the work is in progress to convert that concept vehicle into a production vehicle which is built right and priced right for Indian automobile market. Hyundai Sales Grow Over 14% In May 2011- New Fluidic Verna Bookings Cross 12000 Mark !

Hyundai India is doing good sales in India with an year on year domestic sales growth of 14.6% in the month of May 2011 which stands at 31,123 cars compared to 27,151 cars sold in May 2010. The sales have been largely boosted by the introduction of all new Hyundai Verna Fluidic 2011 which is creating a lot of buzz in the India auto market. With a high vale for money feature list, high performance and segment leading features, Hyundai Verna is clocking a lot of sales. In just 20 days after the launch, it has clocked over 12,000 bookings !       At present, Hyundai Motors India Ltd. is India's second largest car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter.
