Honda City Prices Cut In India By Up To Rs. 66000- Details Price Cut Of Different Variants

Posted: 14 Jun 2011 08:15 AM PDT

Honda City has been suffering from falling sales for past few months. The major reason for the fall being some strong competition from cars like Volkswagen Vento, Maruti SX4, Hyundai Verna Fluidic etc. The Competition is only to get more intense with new cars like Ford Fiesta 2011 just around the corner. In an effort to reclaim its leadership position in the segment, today Honda SIEL announced a major price cut in its best seller Honda City sedan.   Honda City's base variant will be now Rs. 66,000 cheaper than the previous price in India which is expected to be a major tipping point in the sales of Honda City since India is a very price sensitive market. The base variant which is Honda City EMT now costs only Rs. 7.49 Lakhs compared to the previous price of Rs. 8.15 Lakhs. One interesting fact is that the fully loaded variants have received least price cut since it is targeted at the more elite customers who can pay the price for the extra gadgetry and equipment. Issues Between the management of Maruti Suzuki and their workers are still not resolved which has taken the ongoing strike to enter in the 11th day. This ongoing strike at the Manesar plant has cost the production loss of approximately 9000 cars which is a big revenue loss. Maruti Suzuki have agreed to the workers demand by accepting the new union and agreeing on taking back the five laid off workers but protestors are still not ready to negotiate with the management. Haryana labour commission is not in favour to see the new union being formed. To support Maruti workers, tomorrow more than 50 unions from Gurgaon-Manesar belt will  be going on a 2 hour tool down strike. Approximately 50,000 workers will not be working for 2 hours to stand in support to the workers of Maruti Suzuki Manesar unit. It seems this strike will stay on till the demand to take back all dismissed workers by Maruti Suzuki management and new commission by Haryana labour commission will not be fulfilled. check out more- Maruti Suzuki India News Maruti Suzuki Manesar Plant Strike Continues To Cause Production Losses is a post from: CarBlogIndia - All About Automobiles.
