Maruti R3 Engine Options In India- 1.4 Liter Petrol & 1.3 Liter Diesel Posted: 25 Jun 2011 07:11 AM PDT There are some spy pictures of Maruti Suzuki's upcoming MPV, the Maruti R3 which will make its debut in India soon. One of these pictures seem to have been clicked inside some room and other one has been clicked on road during the road tests at Rajasthan roads in India. In a fresh news that have come out via reputed automobile publication Autocar India suggest that Maruti R3 MPV may feature a 1.4 Liter K MPFI Petrol series engine, the K14 from Suzuki rather than the 1.2 Liter K series engine. This makes sense for an MPV since an MPV is usually larger and in more heavy, so a more powerful engine is preferable to maintain good performance level of the cars on full load. The performance of an MPV is critical as people usually take their MPVs on long vacations on hilly roads, slopes and high altitudes where good pulling power and torque is all the more important. The 1.4 Liter MPFI K14 engine delivers around 95 BHP of power and about 130 Nm of torque. This means better performance and better acceleration when compared with a 1.2 Liter K12 engine with max power close to 80 BHP. Whether its an electric vehicle which needs charging station or a Hydrogen Fuel cell vehicle demanding hydrogen fuel filling stations, the "station" part is common and in order to see a technology being accepted globally, a vast infrastructure is needed. Talking only about electric vehicles powered by batteries, the range up to which a car can travel on one full charge defines the success of the same and we all know that a typical electric car battery lasts only for a few kilometers. Even if one crawls to a nearby charging station with a soon to be dead car, he or she would have to wait for a couple of hours for the battery to get fully charged. Importantly the charging isn't as convenient as filling petrol, diesel or CNG to a car. The latest viable concept in the electric vehicle world is of swappable batteries. Renault in collaboration with Better Place (a firm dealing with [...] Electric Cars With Swappable Batteries For Quick Replacement With Fully Charged Batteries Launched In Australia is a post from: CarBlogIndia - All About Automobiles.
