To Distribute Tata Plant’s Singur Land Back To Farmers Posted: 29 Jun 2011 03:46 AM PDT After Tata Motor's petition in the High court of Kolkata got rejected on 22 June 2011, Tata Motors approached Supreme court of India against Bengal Govt. took back the Tata Motor's Singur Plant land from it. After Mamata Banarjee came into power in the state, a new legislation was passed to take back the land from Tata Motors and re-distribute it to the farmers. Volkswagen Up Small Car Launch In Paris In August 2011- May Come To India Posted: 29 Jun 2011 02:36 AM PDT Volkswagen is one of the best automobile giants out there and always design cars keeping in mind the future requirements. Innovating new things is another characteristic of the brand as it always steps forward for projects meant for future cities. Volkswagen Up, a small concept car showcased back in 2007, is one of the company's projects that has been much in anticipation for its production model. At that moment, Walter de Silva, Chief Designer of the Volkswagen group, said “The up! is not a car whose form will become obsolete within a very brief period of time. It shines in its cleverness and yet is made with loving care. And so the up! is a clear and strong statement for future Volkswagen design.” Finally the company has declared the official launch venue and month for the car. The UP small car production model will be unveiled at the Paris Grand Palais on the Champs-Elysees in France in the month of August 2011. The car replaces the Volkswagen Lupo which was a success in the South-American market. As of now nothing is clear about the company's plans of bringing the car to India but when launched, the car will race against [...] Volkswagen Up Small Car Launch In Paris In August 2011- May Come To India is a post from: CarBlogIndia - All About Automobiles. IRC Leader Freddy Loix Will Drive For Skoda Motorsport at Rally Bohemia Posted: 29 Jun 2011 02:29 AM PDT The winners of the Ypres Rally (the most remote IRC event this season) and the current IRC leaders Freddy Loix & Frederic Miclott are going to drive for Skoda Motorsport (factory team) at Rally Bohemia. Taking place in the surroundings of Mlada Boleslav, the upcoming event will not see Skoda Motorsport’s Kopecky & Stary this time due to an injury Stary suffered in the shakedown before the Ypres Rally in Belgium last week. Skoda is the General Partner of the event. This "home" rally is another opportunity for the Skoda Motorsport team to appear in the Czech Republic. Head of the team Michal Hrabánek comments: "We take our participation in Bohemia for granted. We are sorry that Kopecký & Starý cannot take part due to the co-driver’s injury. On the other hand, I am sure that the appearance by the current IRC leader Freddy Loix will make this rally highly attractive and will be a good reason for fans to come to this event." Freddy Loix is going to make his debut at Rally Bohemia: "I have heard that the profile of Rally Bohemia is similar to that of the Barum Rally and that it is a great but difficult [...] IRC Leader Freddy Loix Will Drive For Skoda Motorsport at Rally Bohemia is a post from: CarBlogIndia - All About Automobiles. Force Motors SUV Force One Spy Pictures From Road Testing Posted: 29 Jun 2011 12:25 AM PDT Lately there was a news which reportedly said that the much anticipated Force Motors SUV, which earlier had no name, has ben named as Force One. The interest for the car lies in the fact that it will be an affordable SUV and will go against some of the biggest rulers of the segment, Tata Safari, Mahindra Scorpio etc. A member from the very renowned Team-BHP forum got his hands on the new Force One while it was on a test run around the city of Mumbai in a camouflage. The car looks very much similar to the Force Explorer and is really huge which means that road presence would not be an issue for this car. The shape and the overall design looks pretty much fine but the size is a concern we believe. The car is too big and could be compared to Toyota Fortuner in dimensions. Pricing again has to be well below Rs. 12 Lakh as it's the same band where Safari and Scorpio fall and if it exceeds the expected price, the response from the market might get dull. l Speculations about the engine say that a 2.2 Liter one will power the car but [...] Force Motors SUV Force One Spy Pictures From Road Testing is a post from: CarBlogIndia - All About Automobiles.
